Now that the new Tyranid codex is about to be launched, along with a host of new models, I think its nearly time to put the Necrons back to slumber in their Tomb World and for my version of Hive Fleet Leviathan to take to the gaming tables. I currently have a limited budget (probably about £200 max, ideally a bit less) to spend on some new models so I'd appreciate any advice from anyone as to what else I should consider buying. It should be noted that I know very little about Tyranids as I've only ever played a couple of games against them so I really am a bit clueless at the moment as to where to go next, the models I currently own are as follows:
- Flying Hive Tyrant
- Hive Tyrant (unbuilt)
- Tervigon
- Trygon (unbuilt)
- Carnifex (unbuilt)
- Carnifex with Deverourers
- Carnifex with Talons
- 24 Genestealers
- 32 Hormagaunts
- 9 Warriors
- 8 Rippers
- 32 Termagants
- 10 Gargoyles
Wouldn't want to make any recommendation until Saturday, everything could change. My guess is you'd need a few more Termagaunts, or some homogaunts, but until the new codex drops its impossible to say
ReplyDeleteYeah I was kind of thinking the same really. Seems pretty likely that I will probably need a lot more Termagants, just dont know if I can face the task of painting yet more of those things :-(
DeleteI'll probably try and pick your brains next wednesday night at YG if you are there but feel free to comment on here after saturday if you have any recommendations at all
Yeah I should be at Garrison on that Wednesday, I might even be playing 40k there this week *shock* *horror*
DeletePlay the models you have a couple of times with the new rules. Maybe try a couple of counts as games with some new stuff. Then, and only then, work out what to buy next, and update the army a unit at a time with a few games between each new unit as you find what works for you.
